      Solidarity

Happiness is real if it comes shared

We are living beings entangled in the web of life ...

all connected in some way.

In solidarity with disadvantaged realities, EquIncontro Natura donates to charity  part of the proceeds from membership, from events   and from training experiences. ...

“Extraordinary event, beautiful atmosphere, it seems to be in a natural cathedral” These are the words pronounced with a voice broken by emotion by Renato Carella, at the end of the excursion-concert “Di Bosco in Nota” organized last Sunday by EquIncontro Natura.

The initiative, held on Sunday 13 September 2020

in the Bosco del Cerquone, inside the Park

Natural Regional of the Castelli Romani, had

as a goal a fundraiser in support

of the Sicilian association "Il Ramarro" of which

Professor Carella is the president.

Letizia Stagno, president of EquIncontro Natura,

assisted by the active members of the association,

led the participants on a walk

naturalistic in the woods, embellished with a delicate

musical moment by the guitar-voice duo

“The essential”, composed by Sara Bartolucci and

Simona Iemmolo.

A huge English oak, lying under a dome of oaks and hazelnuts, was the stage and setting for an intimate and exciting show.

It is Professor Carella, who arrived directly from Sicily to attend the event, to open the initiative. A man with a small physique who, in addition to a great culture, includes a spirit, lucid and lively, with an unmistakable Sicilian inflection and a simple and at the same time refined language, he tells with manifest regret the facts that gave life to this initiative of solidarity.

An impressive series of arson attacks last July devastated the Santo Pietro wood, a splendid nature reserve near Caltagirone. The headquarters and structures with which the Green Lizard association had been protecting and managing the forest for almost thirty years were also destroyed, spreading a culture of legality and respect for the environment.

“We have lost 8000 trees and the work of at least fifteen years has been thwarted,” says Carella. But Green lizard raises, rolling up his hands, asking for solidarity and opposing a clear refusal to the perverse and destructive logic that weighs on a natural environment, the patrimony of the community.

An appeal that does not fall on deaf ears and that is picked up above all by realities belonging to civil society.

EquIncontro Natura, in addition to a direct donation, organized this event, with the patronage of the Municipality of Rocca Priora where the association is based, collecting generous participation from the public and over a thousand euros in donations.

The municipal administration, present with its representation in the initial stages of the event, reiterated an availability already expressed by the mayor of Rocca Priora, Anna Gentili for a future collaboration with Il Ramarro and local associations, in solidarity and defense of legality and of the naturalistic heritage.
